i know, i know, i'm doing an AWFUL job at keeping up with this blog. been busy, to say the least! let me try to catch you all up on what's been going on in the life of Lena.
about a month ago, i went to Atlanta, to visit Jenny Lehigh, friend from working together in Billings. it was so great to catch up with her, and see someone from home! i didn't realize how much i've missed my all-time favorite people since i've been in sunny FL. Jenny took me sight-seeing in ATL, and just had a great time doing all the best things we did together romping around Billings. it was sad to head back to JAX, but Jenny and I decided to meet in ATL again in 3 weeks for an awesome concert, Drake, TI, Future, J. Cole, 2Chainz, and some others. ( i know, i've been converted to some rap and hip-hop! i didn't see it coming either)
i've been working for the YMCA in JAX for over a month now, and am really liking it! i get to guard at an outdoor pool over half the time, and am getting a lovely Florida glow. ahh, just like the old days at the Ramsey Family Pool! the people i work with are great, and i've once again made some good friends out of working at a Y. pretttyyyyy awesome!
in a few weeks, my lovely parents will be driving alll the way down to Jacksonville to visit, and deliver me my car! i've been getting awfully homesick lately, and it'll be great to catch up and feel at home again. also, an added bonus to get my own car back!
that's all i have to catch up on now, but i promise to post more frequently from now on!

the BIGGEST fail.
i know, i'm doing awful at this whole blog thing. i realize this, and i'm sorry. ok, let's change that now! UPDATE TIME!
Logan and i are still dating, and he's wonderful. We spend all the time we can together, which is hard considering he's on nights, and i work M-F. we make it work somehow though.
I GOT A JOB!!!!
i'm now working at The LBA Group, and public accounting firm in Riverside, and neighborhood not far from my house in Jacksonville. I LOVE IT! the people i work with are great, and even though the work is tedious sometimes, i'm still enjoying having a job. it helps make the time go faster. i already can't believe i've been here almost 2 months! i'm doing a lot of the same work i was doing at the Y, which is nice that i'm not too slow at the work i'm doing, and i kind of have a concept of what's going on. my job is considered a temp position, but it's sounding kinda hopeful that i will become a permanent position! fingers crossed!
my parents + Nancy have set a date for coming down here! they're driving my Ruby down to me the second week of June, and i can't wait! it'll be so nice to see them, have a vacation, and get my car back!
well, considering i'm at work, i should probably wrap it up. more later, i promise!

feelin' groovy.
i haven't been the best at updating this for a while, but i've just been busy taking in the sites! i've been trying to go out every day to a new spot, or find someplace i've never been to walk around for a bit. Jacksonville is such a spread-out place, that there's lots of little spots to go visit around to.
i also met a boy :) his name is Logan (different Logan than the one i went to grade school with 7 years ago :) ), and he is in the Navy, stationed in King's Bay, about 30 minutes from JAX. we've been seeing eachother for only about a week, but he's really great, and i hope i can see more of him! his work schedule isn't too bad, but it still kinda stinks to be 30 minutes away. i guess it's definitely better than 3 days away!
just wanted to put a quick update out before i headed to bed. hope everyone who follows this is somewhat enjoying it! i know i don't have too much exciting stuff happening, but i'll try and jazz it up as best i can. let me know if you have any suggestions!

florida sunshine.
well, it's safe to say, i think i made a wise choice on coming down here! so far, i've really enjoyed my time here. and, shortly after i left, it started to snow in Montana. therefore: NOT regretting this decision at this moment! my dad has informed me it's snowed almost 2 feet over the past few days. yuck.
i arrived to JAX thursday night, and promptly fell asleep. it was an exhausting all-day affair of getting here, and i needed some beauty sleep.
friday, after i awoke, my uncle and i went to a lunch downtown at a church supporting a culinary arts program for local homeless people looking to make a change. met a great friend of his there, and enjoyed some wonderful food! after lunch, Tobe and i wandered around downtown Jacksonville, enjoying the sunshine, and stopping at a few local spots like the beautiful City Hall, and his office of PwC, where i talked to a coworker of his, who has helped me link up with another gentleman, and i am possibly getting an interview at a wonderful mortage company downtown! it all happened really quickly, and i'm really happy about it! after visiting some major stops, we went home and i took a nap (still jetlagged i suppose). that night, we went to a Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra concert of pop and Broadway music. it was excellent!
saturday, we un-decorated Tobe's ginormous house from Christmas, which took us 4 hours, and packed it all away neat and tidy in the garage. that night, after having dinner at home, we went to a few local bars to check out the night scene. really enjoyed wandering in Riverside and having a few drinks.
sunday, we went to the beach! great spot, and soooo beautiful. after the beach, we went to Costco for some groceries, and went home to rest up for the evening at WICKED! it was so great! we were about 20 minutes late cause we both thought it started an hour later, but it was still sooo wonderful! a dream come true of mine. it was on my bucket list, and now i can cross it off! this whole week since Tom left for work early monday morning, i've been entertaining myself with chores and such around the house, unpacking, wandering around Jacksonville, and lots of movies. Tobe has a HUUUGEEEE dvd collection, so i've been watching lots of those.
this weekend, i think we plan on going to St. Augustine and checking out the local sites there. not sure what else is in stow for the weekend, but i'm looking forward to it! more will be posted later. but for now, i think i'll go enjoy the sunshine...

success!
i've made it to Jacksonville! after an ENTIRE day of traveling, 3 plane rides, some tears, and a lot of butterflies in the stomach, i've made it here. it feels pretty surreal, that i live here now, and i have no return flight to Montana anytime soon. never felt this way before, and i'm not quite sure if it's really hit me yet.
soon, i hope to see my friend Logan from waayyyyyy back in the day at BTGS! he was one of my first boyfriends, and such a good friend! he lives in Savannah, which is only a short car ride away. 7 years later, who knew we'd be living so close!
anyway, about to meet up with my uncle in the airport. his flight was an hour delayed, so i've been stealing JAX wi-fi, and blogging. more soon, i promise!

and the countdown begins...
T-4 days! i'm getting so ready for this move, but i'm also really getting nervous! i can't help but be a little afraid of the unknown, and i think that's normal.
getting all my stuff all gathered up and packed to move across the country is the weirdest thing ever. i feel like i need more things, but i know i don't. it's kind of annoying, but this is what i gotta do. i guess it's a good chance to clear out the old stuff i don't need!
i will post again after i get there, and hopefully i won't have any issues with my flying day!

new year's resolution.
happy new year all! i rang in 2012 with some of my best friends in Missoula this year, and it was wonderful! (minus the apparent hangovers we all had today...)
yesterday, i decided what i want my new year's resolution to be: i want to do/try something new and different every day. i know, sounds challenging. but when i get to JAX, it won't be that hard! i'll be able to accomplish this easily since i'll be in a new town/state/culture. today, my new thing i tried was actually the very wee hours of the morning: i went out to Missoula bars for the first time! so there, that easy. now, just gotta do that 364 more times... :)
hope everyone was happy, safe, and healthy for their own new year's celebrations!
